Hi! My name is Mandy Hammell. I am the head of the Actuarial Science Program at Penn State. I graduated from Penn State (many years ago) with a degree in Mathematics with an option in Actuarial Science. I am an FSA and a CLU (Certified Life Underwriter). I worked for 30 years as an actuary at Prudential Financial. I had exposure to a wide variety of actuarial work during my career at Prudential. In my free time, I enjoy puzzles, travelling and spending time with friends and family. If you have questions about the career, I’m happy to chat with you!

President - Chad Stein

Hi! My name is Chad Stein and I am a senior majoring in actuarial science through Smeal. I have previously served as the Director of Technology for the club. I have had 3 internships within the consulting industry. My freshman year summer I worked at INS Consultants (regulatory consulting). During my sophomore and junior year summers, I worked at EY (Ernst & Young) within their Life/Health practice in Philadelphia and New York, respectively. So far, I have passed Exam P, FM, SRM, and recently PA. I am currently studying for Exam FAM to take in November. I enjoy my every morning Red Bull and lifting in the Rec Hall!

Vice President - Srikar Sunil

Hi! My name is Srikar Sunil. I am the Vice President of the Actuarial Science Program. I am a junior majoring in Actuarial Science through Smeal. Last summer, I was an actuarial intern at Aetna in their Medicare department. Currently, I am working at Erie Insurance in their ERM practice, and this upcoming summer, I will be interning at Liberty Mutual. I have passed Exam P, FM, and recently MAS-I this May. I enjoy working out, playing racquet sports, and hanging out with my friends.

Hi! I’m Quinn Egal and I am majoring in Actuarial Science and minoring in Statistics. This Summer I will be interning with Highmark Health. I have been a member of the Actuarial Science club since freshman year. I have passed Exams P and FM and am currently preparing for Exam SRM. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, golfing, and snowboarding.

Hi! My name is Anthony Padula and I am a junior majoring in Actuarial Science and minoring in Spanish. This summer I will be interning with Aetna/CVS Health. Outside of the club, I am involved with the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program. I have passed Exam P and Exam SRM, and am studying for Exam FM. In my spare time I like to play tennis, golf, read, work out, watch football, and play guitar.

My name is Justin Morrison (he/him), and I am a fourth-year Schreyer Scholar majoring in Actuarial Science through Smeal and minoring in Mathematics, Statistics, and Information Systems Management. I have passed Exams P, FM, and SRM. I am currently studying for Exam FAM. Last summer, I interned in Group Insurance Actuarial at Prudential and will be a returning intern next summer. Outside of the Actuarial Science Club, I am a member of the Gaming Association of Penn State and the Non-Profit Poker Club. I also am a huge fan of the Eagles, 76ers, and Manchester United."

Hi! My name is Angelina Krebs and I am a fourth year student, majoring in Actuarial Science through Smeal. I have passed Exam P, FM, and SRM. I am currently studying for Exam FAM to take in November. Last summer, I was an intern at Resolution Life US and participated in the Actuarial Success Awareness Program (ASAP) with Prudential. This upcoming summer, I am excited to join Prudential’s team for my last internship before graduating. Outside of the Actuarial Science Club, I enjoy cooking, puzzles, and working out.

Director of Student Development - Roshan Shah

Hi! My name is Roshan Shah and I'm a senior majoring in Statistics in the Actuarial option. I previously served as Director of Finance and am very excited to continue my involvement as Director of Student Development. In spring 2022, I participated in Aon's actuarial career discovery program and interned with Transamerica in summer 2022 in Baltimore, Maryland. This summer, I will be a summer scholar with Deloitte in New York City. Outside of the club, I'm actively involved with the Sports Analytics club, Indian Culture and Language club, and work remotely as a pharmacy technician. In my free time, I love investing in the stock market as well as watching and playing sports, especially football, basketball, and cricket.

Hi! My name is Sarah Hunt, and I am a senior majoring in Actuarial Science through Smeal with minors in Math and Statistics. My role as CAS Student Ambassador gives me the opportunity to bring in resources from the Casualty Actuarial Society to support students tracking the Property and Casualty route. Last summer, I interned with Erie Insurance, and I will be returning this summer for more fun P&C projects and awesome people! Outside the CAS Ambassador role, I serve as Overall for the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program, compete in ethics case competitions on the Smeal Ethics Case Team, and study for actuarial exams!
